Arthur & Sam – Intimate Gay Wedding in Tuscany

Destination Wedding in Tuscany Captured on Canon 5D Mark IV

On September 20th, 2025, I had the honor of documenting the love story of Arthur & Sam, a same-sex couple from Chester, UK, celebrating their intimate destination wedding in Tuscany. With about 50 guests at Relais Guado al Sole, nestled between Pomarance and Volterra, their day was full of emotion, laughter, and the iconic golden Tuscan light.

This wedding was also special for me professionally — one of my last captured using the Canon 5D Mark IV before fully transitioning to mirrorless photography.

Working alongside Sara, my videomaker, we created a seamless photo + video storytelling experience, perfect for couples who want to relive every moment of their LGBTQ+ wedding.

✦ The Magic of Tuscan Light

The Tuscan sun that day was intense, offering both a challenge and a reward. By embracing natural shadows and balancing exposures carefully, I was able to create images with depth, warmth, and authenticity — hallmarks of my style.

Equipment used:

  • Canon 5D Mark IV
  • 16–35mm f/2.8 for wide, immersive landscapes
  • 24–70mm f/2.8 for versatile, spontaneous storytelling
  • 70–200mm f/2.8 for emotional close-ups and discreet portraits
  • Drone footage to capture breathtaking aerial views of the Tuscan hills

✦ A Romantic LGBTQ+ Wedding Among the Hills

Relais Guado al Sole is the perfect setting for couples seeking an intimate wedding with panoramic countryside views. Arthur & Sam’s connection was effortless to capture — their smiles, closeness, and joy flowed naturally, making every photo authentic. As the sun set, the Tuscan landscape provided a cinematic golden-hour backdrop, enhancing every moment.

✦ Photographer & Videomaker Collaboration

For weddings of 40–70 guests, having both a photographer and a videomaker makes a significant difference. Together, we ensured:

  • Coverage from two complementary perspectives
  • Full attention to both grooms without missing spontaneous moments
  • Consistent storytelling, color, and aesthetics
  • A complete photo + video experience for the couple

For LGBTQ+ weddings, our approach remains sensitive, discreet, and natural — respecting the couple’s unique story.

✦ Planning Your LGBTQ+ Destination Wedding in Tuscany

Arthur & Sam’s wedding embodies everything I love about my work: authentic emotions, breathtaking landscapes, and couples who want their story told naturally and artistically. Whether you are planning a gay wedding in Tuscany, or a destination wedding in Volterra, Siena, Florence, or the Tuscan countryside, I would be honored to capture your love story.
